Are the homeowner officers have the right to permanently close the gate in our street? They padlocked the gate because their reason is that they gave us the key and we forgot to close it. The gate in our street is accessible for robbers and that was they're reason why they closed it. Our alternative is to walk a long way to reach the guard house which is very inconvenient for us because we take a long walk to reach the main exit. What I am worried is that if emergency occurs and that we do not have a choice but to walk to the other side to reach the main gate of the subdivision. If security is their concerned, why not put a security post in our street and besides, at the guard house you can see 4 security guards on duties at the same time, aside from one security they put at the other street.
Do we have grounds for complaints? Is it illegal to close the street? What about our Right of Way? Please help thanks
