Acctually, as per our Framework for Governance for Homeowners' Associations, we allow the LEGAL WIFE OR HUSBAND OF THE HOMEOWNER to run in any elective position of the association, UNLESS it is explicitly stated in the association By-Laws that it is only the actual landowner who can run and the only privilege given to the husband or wife is to vote.
Please check your association By-Laws regarding this matter. You may also read the Framework for Governance I mentioned which is posted here at our website.
